For the last 2-3 months the Midwest and surrounding states have been ravaged by drought. We hear horror stories of ranches selling their livestock because they have no way to feed them. Creek beds and waterways are drying up. Farmers are choosing not to irrigate because they can’t afford to irrigate 24/7 and they can’t save an already lost crop. Farmers who couldn’t afford to irrigate are watching they’re livelihood shrivel up and waste away to nothing.

Driving down the road, tears come to my eyes and I think of my 75 year old grandpa, who still farms but is one who can’t afford irrigation. My family it one who relies on pastureland and alfalfa to raise cattle, but due to lack of moisture we’re sadly watching everything go dormant and we aren’t due for rain until September.
